CNC Key Component Cell Operator
Your role
As a Machinist at our Buffalo, NY location, you will be responsible for planning and performing various machining operations on a wide range of parts, including castings, plates, and fabrications made from assorted metals and alloys. This includes drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, milling, facing, slotting, grinding, and broaching.
Your responsibilities
- Perform own setups using shims, fixtures, clamps, blocks, and supports to ensure proper alignment of parts.
- Set up and operate both CNC and manual machines simultaneously, utilizing manual input stations or pre-programmed taps.
- Preset tools, select speeds, feeds, depth of cuts, etc., as required for each operation.
- Interpret drawings, process sheets, and specifications to determine the proper sequence of operations.
- Mount and dress wheels and stones according to job requirements, making necessary operating adjustments.
- Conduct first piece and periodic checks on all operations to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Apply protective coatings on finished parts and deburr parts using hand tools as needed.
- Collaborate with Programmers, Group Leaders, Methods Engineers, and Management to standardize work processes and procedures.
- Edit CNC machine code as necessary and work with computers and software.
- Inspect work to ensure adherence to specifications, program directives, and quality standards.
- Assist with related secondary functions such as drilling, countersinking, tapping, and the removal of broken taps or drills.
- Work well in a team environment and assist others as needed.
- Maintain records of work performed, materials processed, and program changes.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One to Two years of experience in Mill Machining or equivalent educational/training certificate.
- Knowledge of GD&T is a plus.
- Ability to work with both metric and imperial measurements.

Wage Rate: $25.37/Hour - Step Increases after 6 months and 12 months.
