Can you pick and sort a part that’s been formed on a Strippit PX punch press? Our experts explain what’s possible.

Strippit PX is a versatile machine, able to punch, bend, tap and form. Its single-head design features up to 200 tools with all-tool rotation so each tool has the flexibility to rotate a full 360 degrees, and can be used at any angle anywhere on the sheet.

Can you pick and sort a part that’s been formed on a Strippit PX punch press?

Well, this is a tough question. Everything is actually related to the complexity of the part geometry. As you saw in the video, in the presentation of the machine, we can bend about 26 bends with a height of 90 mm. It's a quite complex part. So parts like this are always removed through the truck door because they're too complex.

But we can also pick and sort some bending parts, let's say with some up forms, extrusion or bends. The complexity also lies in how to stack the parts because you can imagine when you start to bend and then your part is actually a 3D part, the stack will not be equal.

So we have some options, some other solutions to put the stack parts into a kind of bend, so a drop-off. Or we can also stack them, not in a pile but in the separate stacking device. So everything is actually related to the geometry of the part.
