LVD partnered with UGent Racing, the Formula Student team from Ghent University, to support the design and construction of a fully autonomous race car. The collaboration highlights LVD’s commitment to innovation and the advancement of engineering education.

UGent Racing is made up of more than 90 engineering students who combine their expertise in mechanics, electronics, and software to design, build, and program high-performance vehicles. The team participated in international Formula Student competitions across Europe, including events in the Netherlands, Czechia, and Germany, achieving strong results in endurance, speed, and business design categories.

As part of this project, LVD provided high-quality sheet metal materials used in the car’s construction. These materials supported the team’s focus on precision, performance, and lightweight design, key elements in developing an efficient and reliable autonomous race car.

LVD is proud to have contributed to this innovative project that demonstrates the strength of collaboration between academia and industry in driving technological progress.
