Product Specialist – Lasers

• Develop educational programs to train company personnel, marketing representatives, and customers on the effective use and application of laser products.
• Lead and manage customer demonstrations at the Akron, New York facility or customer sites, creating sample parts and conducting customer time studies under the guidance of the Product Sales Manager – Lasers.
• Visit customers and prospects as needed, aiding company personnel in presenting products, fostering improved customer relations, discussing customer requirements, and addressing complaints. Collaborate with the field sales force and customers in product development and recommend modifications to current offerings.
• Conduct feature/benefit analysis of competitive products.
• Cultivate relationships with sales representatives through regular communication and develop a travel schedule to engage with field sales units across North America.
• Participate in trade shows and exhibitions to showcase products to potential customers. Attend sales meetings to present the product line and provide technical and application insights to company personnel.
• Address telephone calls and correspondence from direct sales, marketing representatives, and customers related to laser applications. Collaborate with other customer personnel to resolve issues and obtain responses to inquiries.
• Maintain price books and competitive information files, review and clarify customer orders, and prepare required reports and records.
• Fulfill other assigned duties as necessary.

• Excellent verbal communication and customer service-oriented skills.
• Ability to collaborate and interact effectively with others to resolve challenging customer situations and product challenges.
• Demonstrated electrical, mechanical, and creative capabilities.
• Proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Office environment, internal network).
• Working knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and CAD/CAM software is a plus.
• Experience using diagnostic/test equipment, calipers, dial indicators, o-score.
• Occasional domestic/international travel expected; proper documentation required.

• AAS degree in a technical major required, with preference given to BS degrees in Mechanical or Industrial Technology.
• 3 – 5 years of experience in programming and operating laser equipment.
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate and interact effectively with others to resolve challenging customer situations.
• Demonstrated mechanical, design, and creative capabilities strongly desired.
