Assembler A
Your role
Plan and perform a wide variety of operations involving assembly, and testing of various metal fabricating machines, equipment and accessories thorough finalizing the mechanical and electrical phases.
Work from drawings, schematics, process sheets, orders and specifications to plan operational sequences and perform assembly operations involving high degree of accuracy in layout, fitting, adjusting and testing, maintain close tolerance alignment, clearance, end play and timing. Build machines and sub-assemblies on erecting floor, bench or fixture, depending on type of size.
Your responsibilities
Assemble various components, parts and basic systems to machine frame, mount and align driving units, assemble and attach head, drive shaft and fly wheel, align and adjust clearance and end play. Assemble work table to frame and mount die base. Work to reference points and surfaces to attach and align gauging bars, lead screw assembly, guides, hydraulic parts, controls and mechanisms. Hand fit bearings, bushings, sleeves, keys, sliding arrangements, shafts, bars, etc., using small power and hand tools. Align optical components in laser beam path. Add appropriate fluid to laser & chiller as required. Prepare resonator for shipment.
Tolerances close requiring careful checking and adjusting to maintain a number of interrelated dimensions with high demand for squareness, concentricity and parallelism using dial indicator. Install electrical controls and units, connect wiring, harness cables, individual wires, and complete wiring requirements for finished machine. Form, bend and install tubing and hydraulic piping with fittings and connectors. Lay out, drill and pin assembled parts for permanent position. Assist higher grade assembler in more complex assembly operations. Also, instruct by working with lower grade assemblers in their more complex assembly and finalizing operations.
Test, operate and finalize all machines and accessories through prescribed operational cycles. Diagnose trouble and make any indicated adjustments or corrections to insure adherence to specifications. Follow prescribed procedure to test wiring circuits, electrical controls and mechanisms. Assemble and test hydraulic, pneumatic systems and chiller circuit under pressures.
