Maintenance Technician A
Your role
At LVD, we are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician A to support the maintenance, repair, and installation of machinery, equipment, and facility systems within our manufacturing environment.
In this hands-on role, you will play a critical part in maximizing equipment reliability, supporting production efficiency, and maintaining a safe and well-functioning facility.
Your responsibilities
As a Maintenance Technician A, you will:
- Perform maintenance, repair, installation, and relocation of industrial machinery, machine tools, plumbing systems, heating equipment, and facility infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including motors, conductors, starters, lighting systems, and power connections, while adhering to all safety standards and procedures.
- Use measuring and testing equipment to identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, specifications, and work instructions to effectively plan and execute maintenance activities.
- Diagnose equipment failures, dismantle machinery, identify root causes, replace defective components, and restore equipment to operational condition.
- Set up and operate manual machine tools and equipment to manufacture or modify replacement parts as needed.
- Perform precision fitting, alignment, leveling, bearing installation, shaft repairs, spindle work, and equipment adjustments.
- Prepare machine foundations and assist with machine installation, positioning, alignment, and commissioning.
- Carry out general maintenance activities including plumbing, pipe fitting, carpentry, masonry, and building repairs.
- Support maintenance projects and provide guidance or instruction to colleagues when required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Proactively identify equipment issues, report abnormalities, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and assist in minimizing production downtime.

Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience repairing and maintaining industrial machinery and production equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and maintenance tools.
- Understanding of machine alignment, tolerances, gearing, and mechanical adjustments.
- Basic computer skills for documentation, reporting, and maintenance record management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical degree, certificate, or apprenticeship in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance and equipment repair.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience working with precision tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks within an industrial environment.
- Availability to work occasional overtime and respond to equipment breakdowns when required.
