About LVD

LVD is a world leader in the design and manufacture of sheet metal fabrication equipment with one of the most comprehensive product offerings in the industry. Our equipment and software provide innovative and integrated metalworking solutions to improve production processes and advance the Smart Factory.

Family

LVD is a family-owned business managed by the second and third generations of the founding families, Lefebvre, Van Neste and Dewulf. We operate independently and are able to set our strategic direction, which gives us agility to change and evolve. This is fundamental to our company culture and our future.

History

Established in 1952, LVD gained recognition as a precision press brake manufacturer. Significant growth in the 1990s, which included the acquisition of Strippit, Inc. in 1998, a U.S. based manufacturer of turret punch press equipment, and the addition of laser cutting machines to the LVD product line, helped position us as a leader in laser cutting, punching and bending technology, and in the production of heavy-duty, custom press brakes and guillotine shears.

Growth

Through the years, we have grown and merged our talents with other companies to expand our product offering. This includes the acquisition of tube laser cutting manufacturer, AltaMAR, and Pullmax AB, which led to the development of a next-generation single-head punching machine. We expanded our automation portfolio to include tower and warehouse systems through the acquisition of the automation company COMPAC. With the acquisition of the solutions business unit of KUKA Automatisering + Robotics nv, we launched our robotics business, LVD Robotic Solutions bv. Today, we offer a complete spectrum of metalworking equipment and accessories to help you work better, faster and with greater profitability.

Innovation

We are committed to innovation. Our strategy emphasizes in-house design and development of products driven by the needs of the market and our customers. To lead with innovation, we give our employees creative freedom, continually invest in research and development, and collaborate with several European universities in new product design and testing. LVD breakthrough products include CADMAN® software, Touch series CNC controller, Easy-Form® Laser adaptive bending system, and Synchro-Form XXL press brake.

Global presence

We are committed to a broad global presence, which is critical to understanding and serving the needs of our customers. Our global headquarters is Gullegem, Belgium. We operate production facilities in Belgium, U.S., Italy, Slovakia and China. We have dedicated offices and direct representation in more than 47 countries around the world following the principle of localized sales and service for each market.

Sustainability

Sustainability is our priority. Through advanced, digitally-connected machinery, we help support economic sustainability for our customers. Programs like our NexGen upgrade extend the useful life of our LVD press brakes, delivering as much as a 50 percent increase in machine productivity. By prioritizing our people and investing in an open, collaborative workplace that is diverse and inclusive, we set the stage for social development. In our production facilities, we promote the reduction of waste and encourage environmentally-sound practices, which include the use of solar panels, application of water-based paint, reduction of electricity, water and heating oil from 30 to 50 percent.
